Musa: The Ally of Migrant Entrepreneurship in Peru

Musa: The Ally of Migrant Entrepreneurship in Peru

Venezuelan migration could increase Peru’s GDP by more than 4%, according to the IMF, but many migrants face informality and discrimination.

To address the challenges of migrant entrepreneurship, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) launched CREANDO in 2022, a community that supports these entrepreneurs. A key element is Musa, which offers microlearning and personalized mentorships through WhatsApp, helping migrant entrepreneurs develop and strengthen their businesses.

CREANDO promotes social cohesion and economic integration, focusing especially on female entrepreneurs. Additionally, it has created the Migrant Talent Map, a geolocation tool that connects migrant businesses throughout Peru.

The platform connects entrepreneurs with more than 15 international cooperation actors, companies, and local governments, demonstrating that talent knows no borders. Projects like Musa highlight the importance of technology and education in building inclusive and resilient communities.

In a world where physical and cultural borders divide, this initiative reaffirms that talent and entrepreneurial spirit can flourish regardless of origin.

CREANDO demonstrates that talent and perseverance know no borders. With technology and collaboration, migrant entrepreneurs can overcome challenges and enrich their communities. This initiative inspires us to see the potential in every individual, regardless of their background.
